Anastasia Kurkova was born in Moscow and received her professional ballet training at the Natalia Nesterova Dance Academy. Upon graduation, she joined the Bolshoi Theatre, where she built an extensive solo classical repertoire based on the masterpiece choreography of Marius Petipa and Yuri Grigorovich — before continuing her soloist career with the Vienna State Ballet and the State Ballet Berlin.
